Day 6

Who says that we are not tough enough? We are currently enduring day six without power and water. We ventured out yesterday for gas and a laundry mat to Jewett, Texas (about two hours North). It was a successful journey and we got HAMBURGERS and FRENCH FRIES!
We had a half a bath tub left with "clean water" that we were using to brush teeth. Well, BL's little fat dog decided she needed a bath at two o'clock this morning and she jumped into the tub of liquid gold. She may become a Hurricane Ike fatality before this is all over. She also got out and I had to drive around the neighborhood and waste precious gas to find her. I think we should have hot dogs for dinner.
Husband went to work last night. He ran out of gas about four miles away. A manager came and brought him a can of gas to get to work. He found a station this morning at 5:00 am that didn't have a long line so he was able to fill up his car.
As you have read. We are surviving. Yeah for us.
