BG got an early birthday day present yesterday. His PawPaw gave him his first truck (1993 Chevy Blazer). He was so excited driving home. I asked him if he thought it was the coolest vehicle ever and he just grinned real big and said "yeah". He is so happy. Of course he came home and washed it and vacuumed it out. He has no place to go, but he is carrying his keys around in his pocket. Not only does he have no place to go, he doesn't have a license yet (I think he forgot that little detail). He has big plans for his truck, of course. He is already making a list of what he needs and what he wants to do to his truck, including paint, big tires, lift kit, interior work. It sounds to me like he needs a big job in earn money for his big plans.

Day 6
Who says that we are not tough enough? We are currently enduring day six without power and water. We ventured out yesterday for gas and a laundry mat to Jewett, Texas (about two hours North). It was a successful journey and we got HAMBURGERS and FRENCH FRIES!
We had a half a bath tub left with "clean water" that we were using to brush teeth. Well, BL's little fat dog decided she needed a bath at two o'clock this morning and she jumped into the tub of liquid gold. She may become a Hurricane Ike fatality before this is all over. She also got out and I had to drive around the neighborhood and waste precious gas to find her. I think we should have hot dogs for dinner.
Husband went to work last night. He ran out of gas about four miles away. A manager came and brought him a can of gas to get to work. He found a station this morning at 5:00 am that didn't have a long line so he was able to fill up his car.
As you have read. We are surviving. Yeah for us.

Never ending tree work. I guess we should be positive, at least we will have plenty of firewood for the next ten years. Husband and BG were working so hard, until the chain on the chain saw broke. That is going to be a hard item to come by around here, so the tree removing has come to a halt for now.
Life with a generator
Well, this is how we are surviving. We may not have water or electric, but if someone wants some microwave popcorn we have got that covered. As long as we can keep finding gas we will be okay. We have cords everywhere and I have tripped over them about 100 times but I am thankful for them. We are running the freezer, computer, tv, window unit...all the essentials.
We survived
